For those who prefer the convenience and comfort of receiving healthcare services from their own home, a telehealth consultation offers an ideal solution. At Children’s Health Hub, we offer private, secure and confidential telehealth consultations.
A telehealth consultation provides a flexible and accessible option for medical consultations, and is especially beneficial for individuals with mobility challenges, time constraints, or those living in remote areas. It offers the opportunity for you to connect to our healthcare providers virtually, ensuring you receive the necessary care and advice without the need to travel to a physical location.
A telehealth consultation is similar to a regular medical appointment with a physician or allied health practitioner, however it’s conducted over a video call on devices like a computer, tablet, or smartphone. This allows you to receive medical advice and care without leaving your couch. Telehealth is particularly beneficial in today’s world for its safety in minimising COVID-19 exposure and its time-saving convenience.
Supported by Medicare, this initiative utilises online tools like computers and applications like Skype for remote communication between doctors and patients. However, while telehealth is efficient for many medical consultations, there are still certain conditions that require in-person visits. Please chat with the team at Children’s Health Hub to decide whether a Telehealth consultation is suitable for your child.
To arrange a telehealth appointment, please contact us via phone or email or submit a booking request on our website.
Telehealth appointments are conducted via Zoom. The link will be sent to you upon full payment.
To maximise the benefits of your telehealth appointment, prepare a list of concerns and questions for your specialist. You might want to have a notepad and pen on hand to take down any notes. Or, you may have questions that you want to address. If possible, record your child’s height, weight, and blood pressure prior to the consultation. Choose a well-lit area for the call, with the light source in front of you to improve visibility.
Additionally, make sure to keep your camera or phone stable and plugged into a wall unit throughout the consultation to maintain a clear visual connection.
If you have a computer or tablet with a camera, microphone, speakers and the internet, you have all that you need. Remember, this is just like a face-to-face appointment at the clinic, so you’ll need to find a quiet, private place to speak with your doctor.
Prior to your appointment, it’s a good idea to download Zoom. Zoom is a free video conference application in which we will be able to communicate. Once downloaded, familiarise yourself with the app.
