Paediatric Gastroenterologist

About Dr Moon

Dr Jennifer Moon is a qualified paediatric gastroenterologist with a special interest in rare genetic metabolic disorders affecting the liver and gastrointestinal system. Her clinical focus also includes nutrition, eosinophilic esophagitis, and coeliac disease. She has completed specialist paediatric training at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, working in general paediatrics, emergency and intensive care unit, genetic metabolic disorders service and of course, paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology. She is passionate about providing comprehensive care for children and working with families and other clinicians to improve their health outcomes.

In addition to her clinical work, she is currently pursuing a Master of Biostatistics, with a keen interest in furthering her research in the field of paediatric gastroenterology. She loves teaching medical students and plans to continue mentoring the next generation of doctors.

She has moved across a few continents, living in Germany, South Korea, Italy, and now Australia. This has shaped her approach to medicine with a multicultural perspective. She is fluent in English, Italian, and Korean (her German is unfortunately stored away somewhere in her brain!)

Outside of her professional life, she enjoys staying active through jogging, Pilates, and embracing her creativity through building Lego sets. She has a wonderful husband, James, who himself is a doctor, specialising in fertility medicine and gynaecology, and has been a true co-adventurer in her journey.
