About Dr Barker

Dr Jessica Barker is a Paediatric Respiratory & Sleep Physician and also a General Paediatrician.

She hails from the Hunter New England region, having completed her Bachelor of Medicine through The University of New England (UNE), junior doctor years and General Paediatric training through Newcastle, Tamworth, Armidale and Maitland. She also trained in neonatal intensive care, child development, clinical genetics, child protection and adolescent addiction medicine, before completing Respiratory & Sleep Medicine fellowships through four tertiary children’s hospitals — John Hunter Children’s Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick, Queensland Children’s Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Jess is a compassionate doctor who focuses on all aspects of health and wellbeing for babies, children and adolescents. She cares about making healthcare understandable, practical and accessible, and is a trauma-informed clinician and an ally for young people in the LGBTQIA+ community.
